Eucosma males compared

Cana costal angle A shallow; corner B of cucullus weakly developed; neck rather long, robust, and angle C shallow.
Obumbratana compared to cana - angle A slightly more pronounced; B more developed; cucullus taller, more narrow; neck more gracile and more distict from sacculus; edge of basal cavity D not as angular. A pronounced group of hair-like setae (pulvinus) usually present E, normally lacking in cana and hohenwartiana.
Hohenwartiana cucullus huge compared to sacculus; B stongly developed, drooping; neck very short; D more angular than obumbratana
Conterminana A small prominence or hump F usually present; neck tapering from cucullus; cucullus narrow.
Tripoliliana sacculus angled G; cucullus narrow, tall
Campoliliana sacculus strongly angled G; cucullus broad


Note: The above represent �good� examples of each species, but intermediates are not uncommon and cause a blurring of the distinctions between the cana-obumbratana-hohenwartiana group.
